TESTING/ RESULTS:

Currently the Toyota pickup has been modified to accept the disk brake conversion and awaits road testing. The phase II brackets are over engineered for the current test vehicle and are installed to allow the vehicle to be mobile.

The Vehicle has performed initial testing prior to removing the stock drum brakes. The data from the braking distance for the drum brakes were collected and with the disk brakes currently on the vehicle the truck has been through a shake down test to ensure that all of the clearances were large enough to ensure clearance between the caliper and wheel when in a rough off road environment.

The process of testing starts with the brackets being loaded in a controlled testing enviornment. A jig has been constructed to allow the brackets to be loaded into a Tinius Olsen tensile tester. By using a tensile tester each variation of bracket can be loaded in  incremental amounts of load making sure that the bracket will not deflect beyond the .005" requirement that was set forth in this project.
